Campaign to feature education, safety information and new product launch.

Deb Group, the world’s leading away-from-home skin care company, has officially launched its annual Sun Protection for Outdoor Workers Campaign. Beginning now and running through the summer months, the campaign will educate employers on the risks of sun exposure and provide tips for keeping their outdoor workers protected.

As part of their new Deb Stoko Global Product Range, Deb offers a full range of Sun Protect products including individual tubes and 1 liter cartridges for dispensers. Designed specifically for industrial outdoor workers, this product offers high-performance protection from the sun's harmful UV-A (aging) & UV-B (burning) rays.

The World Health Organization confirmed that the incidence of both non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancers has been increasing over the past decades. Currently, between 2 and 3 million skin cancers occur globally each year. One in every three cancers diagnosed is a skin cancer and more than 65,000 people worldwide die from melanoma each year. Outdoor workers, particularly construction workers, are at a very high risk of damaging sun exposure. Based on a field study conducted in Australia, construction workers can be exposed to 10 times the recommended daily UV exposure levels. Other high-risk target industries include horticultural, forestry, telecommunications, maritime sector, postal workers and road workers.

The guide provides guidelines on how to minimize your outdoor workers’ risk of sun exposure, including, how and when to apply sunscreen, when to take breaks and how to stay properly hydrated. It also provides an aid to early detection of skin cancer and when to seek medical advice. Upcoming campaign items will include an infographic, fact sheet, blog posts and a downloadable poster.
