GSSI, the world’s leading manufacturer of ground penetrating radar (GPR) equipment, will be highlighting its StructureScan Mini series GPR and SIR® 4000 GPR control unit at the 2015 World of Concrete conference, to be held February 2-6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Industry experts from GSSI will be on hand at booth #C4126 to demonstrate the capabilities of the trusted StructureScan Mini, a handheld, all-in-one GPR system for locating rebar, conduits, post-tension cables and voids, and for determining concrete slab thickness in real time. In addition, they will highlight the SIR 4000 controller, innovative technology that is compatible with both GSSI’s traditional analog antennas and their newest digital offerings, resulting in the versatility and flexibility needed to support a wide range of users and applications.

The StructureScan Mini is the industry standard in handheld GPR, and is available in standard and high-resolution (HR) models. The StructureScan Mini series’ compact design has made it a favorite among concrete inspection professionals, especially in tight spaces or above the head survey locations. The StructureScan Mini is 1600 MHz and can reach depths of up to 50 cm (20 inches); the StructureScan Mini HR offers a 2600 MHz antenna for high-resolution data and can reach depths of up to 40cm (16 inches). Both systems safely locate metallic and non-metallic targets, with an auto target feature that marks the detection of features of interest. Both the standard and HR systems are available with either standard 2D capabilities, or 3D for an x-ray-like image. The lasers on the side of the unit indicate the exact location of the center of target for accurate marking of targets embedded in the concrete. Its ruggedized plastic casing and wheels ensure long-lasting performance.

The SIR 4000 GPR control unit incorporates advanced display methods and filtering capabilities for ‘in-the-field’ processing and imaging. Fully integrated, the SIR 4000 includes a 10.4 inch high definition LED display, an intuitive user interface, simple GPS integration, and Wi-Fi enabled data transfer functionality. The unit is designed with a number of exclusive features, including a casted aluminum chassis that offers superior temperature stability and an impact-resistant design that, combined, make it able to withstand nearly any tough jobsite conditions.
