The Michigan Department of Transportation is considering the use of drones to keep an eye on road conditions and improve safety for highway construction workers and drivers.
That would be in addition to the 56 cameras already being used to monitor traffic in West Michigan, according to WZZM 13.
"MDOT thinks there's a lot of potential in these unmanned aerial vehicles," said Steve Cook, engineer of operations and maintenance for the Michigan Department of Transportation.
