Stellar Industries, Inc. is announcing the release of the redesigned Slider50 Hooklift that is faster and lighter than the previous model.  The Stellar® Slider50 Hooklift is a hydraulic system mounted on a truck chassis that is capable of interchanging various bodies and has a capacity of 50,000 pounds.  The hooklift system also has a dump mode with a maximum dump angle of 51 on a 45-inch high truck frame.  With the use of a sliding jib, the standard Slider50 can accommodate various types of bodies in lengths ranging from 16’ to 22’, and with special bumper configurations bodies up to 24’ long can be interchanged.  The Slider50 is available in three different configurations, a fixed 54” hook height, a 61.75” hook height, and a hydraulic adjustable jib that will travel from 54” to 61.75” with an in-cab control lever.

The design team at Stellar was also able to reduce the weight of the unit itself by almost 1000 pounds, giving the user an additional 950 pounds of available payload.

The Slider50 uses new regenerative valve technology to reduce the cycle time by 20% from the previous model.  That translates to adding an extra load/unload for every 5 complete cycles the operator makes, in turn increasing productivity, efficiency and profitability.

Other features of the Slider50 include the standard heavy-duty hexagonal jib design, new wear pads and wear pad retainers for a sleeker look that maintains the rugged durability, in-cab controls, and slide-through rear latches insure stability and secure attachment of the body.  The Slider50 is equipped with permanently lubricated greasable bushings, zinc plated pins, and an efficient low-flow/high-pressure hydraulic system.

“Our customers requested we take a look at our Slider50 model and improve upon its design to make it faster, lighter, and stronger,” says Tim Davison, Product Manager for Stellar Industries.  He continues, “Our engineering staff used the latest design technology available to them to meet those requests with a faster, lighter and extremely durable unit while making it price competitive,” Davison concludes, “and we’re excited for the marketplace to see it in action.”
